The main types of evaluation criteria considered in a dissertation project:
- The originality, academic and practical values of a dissertation project.
- An evaluation of the reading experience (e.g. article reading and literature review)
- The strengths and weaknesses of the research philosophy and the research methods of a dissertation project
- Research ethical evaluation (the ones related to AI-usage)
- Research method design quality criteria
- Evaluation of the quality of reasoning of the report (3 major benchmarks: (a) the chain of evidence, (b) the quality of the argumentation, and (c) the quality of the inductive and deductive reasoning)
- Evaluation in terms of some explicit quantitative criteria: (a) the similarity index, (b) the number of research methods to use, (c) the number of theories to use, (d) the number of references to use and (e) the report length is around the word count figure recommended for the whole report.
- Evaluation of the dissertation project experience (re: the reflective journal log; and at the post-implementation phase: reflection on personal development)
