Using appropriate academic ideas for theoretical framework level-1a: a note
The following academic ideas are not appropriate for usage in theoretical framework level-1a in the agile literature review approach (ALRA)
(Inappropriate)
2. To evaluate the marketing competence of ABC Ltd
Academic idea 2.1: definition of marketing
Academic idea 2.2: marketing management
Academic idea 2.3: Porter's 5 Force Model
Academic idea 2.4: Marketing mix model
Comments
- Academic idea 2.1. on definition could be used in the literature review (Chapter 2) for research task 2 "To evaluate the marketing competence of ABC Ltd"; it should not be include in the theoretical framework level-1a, though.
- Academic idea 2.2 is a broad subject; too broad for inclusion into the theoretical framework level-1a.
- Academic idea 2.3 is not sufficiently related to the topic marketing competence evaluation; a bad choice of academic idea.
- Academic idea 2.4 is a marketing concept; but it is still not quite related to "marketing competence"; thus it is still an inferior choice of academic idea for research task 2; it can still be used but it has to be clearly employed for marketing competence evaluation purpose.
The component should look like this, using fake academic ideas for illustration
(Appropriate) |
2. To evaluate the marketing competence of ABC Ltd
Academic idea 2.1: ABC model of Jordan (2014)
Academic idea 2.2: XYZ framework of Jackson (2012)
Academic idea 2.3: 789 theory of Ho (2011)
Moreover, there should be around 6 academic ideas for a core-focus-domain component (i.e. high-level research task); for non-core-focus-domain component, 1-2 academic ideas are sufficient.
