Imagination space extension in dissertation topic formulation

Imagination space extension in dissertation topic formulation:

Reading textbooks on a a topic theme as a preliminary way to comprehend a dissertation topic is useful.

To extend imagination space on your topic of interest, I recommend students to (a) browse through relevant academic journal articles and (b) browse  through relevant news and articles in the public domain, e.g., newspapers. Take note on the perspectives, key concepts, concerns, viewpoints and observations made from the works  of (a) and (b). Explore how they could be related as well as how they are associated to your personal voice. Out of this intellectual exploration, then try to formulate a dissertation proposal.

For (a), above, make use of university e-library and Google Scholar; for (b), use google search and access newspapers are useful.

At the very beginning of doing a dissertation project, I suggest students to go to Youtube to find and watch some brief videos on dissertation proposals and literature review.
