Sometimes, a major output of literature review is the formulation of a theoretical framework; alternatively, one can adopt an evolutionary prototyping process to formulate a theoretical framework via literature review. The following are some examples of theoretical framework from my works:
Example 1: on focus group
Example 2: on managerial intellectual learning
Example 3: on system complexity model
Example 4: on double-hybrid management accounting theories
Mind mapping is useful for literature review. Mind maps on academic concepts, reveal their knowledge structures, but they are quite incapable to serve as theoretical frameworks. Examples of these maps are as follows:
Example 1: Big data
Example 2: ethnographic research
Example 3: Corporate turnaround
